Here in the Unity in the Community Youth Group we explored the legacy of MLK and were inspired to start a creative project, a project designed to create a new space in Ireland for young people between the ages of 16-25 to find their voice as leaders and to explore the inequalities of poverty in the context of their own lives. We have designed a creative writing campaign to encourage young people to write a speech inspired by MLK’s legacy to address the inequalities in Ireland today.
This is a creative writing project with an emphasis on the word creative. We will welcome submissions of all shapes and styles. As far as we are concerned speeches don't have to follow any set of rules as long as they contain your dreams and your voice as a leader.
We welcome submissions from individuals or collective collaborative works developed by groups or classes, its all the same to us so long as you follow the above guidelines and have fun!
